On the header fit, using the Sanderson CAD600 headers, the only area of any need for relief was the control arm bushing as stated. Did have to bend the trans cooler lines so they wouldn't make contact, but no problem with any brake lines. I was looking for contact with the alignment shim bolts but they were about an inch clear, no problem.
I wounder why Sanderson made the drivers side header so much shorter than the passenger side( pass side almost looks like full length header) looks like there is alot of room to extend it and curve it out a little more. Did have to use their funky angled collector adapter to swing away from the oil pan on the driver's side, but put a straight reducer on it after grinding on it to fit to straighten out the angle. Pass side just ditched the Sanderson angled reducer and went with straight reducer, nice even flowing look.
Installed new radiator today, have a few issues, guess when measurements are taken it depends on where you are measuring from and to where. Was suppose to be the same height as stock but seems to be 1"-1 1/2" higher, it's ok but left a gap at top of radiator shroud and no way will I have some radiator showing through there. I'll have to figure out a way to fill the gap and keep the stock look, should be able to find so old shrouds or like material in a yard run, have some other parts on my list. Sometimes you just feel a urge for a yard run, no telling what you might find, it could be something you actually NEED!
Do need to solve air cleaner fitment, can't use stock one I have Holley carb with center mount needle seat adjs and will most likely need a base that will drop down for hood clearence. Have been working with a 17" junk yard set up, dimpled it for 2 clearence bumps for the carb, don't like the top though. It angle/flares to about 13-14", want to get a decal set made with something like Super Duty/HO on the top and maybe 465 HP/ 590 ft# on the bottom then put them on the air cleaner like some of the GM muscle cars came with, think they would fit better if the top had the full 17" radius, an item to look for on the yard run. Need to get out there in the AM-Monday ,it hasn't rained for 2 days so the mud/standing water wouldn't be so deep and it's easier to see the floaters. Will take some pics of install progress per requests.
