That's actually pretty cheap for that car. The 59 is pretty much the holy grail for most hearse people and the '59 Superior Crown 3 way is made of pure unobtainium. About the only hearse that ever goes for more money is a '59 M-M Eterna Combo since they are what the Ghostbusters (Ecto1) was based off of and most of those get turned into some form of terrible clone pretty quick.

Well for the same reason I was giving some shit to RichardH about that little Fisher Price sized turbo I wanted something that would bring into power linearly and have an ideal amount of backpressure. The exhaust housing has a 96x88mm wheel with a 1.32 A/R which should be perfect for one of the largest air pumps every put in a car. As inappropriate of a phrase as it is I don't think anything captures this better than 'you don't walk in a whorehouse with a limp dick'. :)

What is your plan for head gaskets and fasteners?
 
I think I like the SCE Titan gaskets (I'm open to suggestions) and definitely the ARP stud kit.

I regrettably have not been able to do any work to my car but I have been amassing parts! Thanks to the great ideas of @Darius and the collective wisdom of this forum I am doing some creative shit with the accessories and pulleys. Found a Taurus pulley on Ebay for $20, a March (part number 2004) directly from them for just over $100 for the water pump, and the most ridiculous alternator I think I've ever seen. It's made by Mechman and makes 400 glorious amps (220 at idle). This also means I'm going to be converting over to an electric power steering rack so I'm currently researching which GM trucks used one of those EPS racks so I can start combing junkyards to find one. Aside from the giant savings in power robbing pump and that giant leaking gearbox that I can't work on because the headers are in the way I can use speed sensors coming off the ECU to change the behavior of the rack based off of speed.

The longer I'm not working on my car the bigger the parts pile seems to be getting.

With what you are putting together you may need that kind of current.Any ideal what horsepower it takes to turn that alternator? Got any pics of it? With that you can hook it up to supply power to your house (or shop)

I'm pretty excited about the option of doing an EPS rack and with this much power on tap I can pretty much do whatever I want. I can't imagine that it sucks down more horsepower than the current Powermaster 150 + hydraulic power steering pump (which is the original and the gearbox leaks like a sieve). I had to figure out the pulley situation anyways because of the offset of trigger wheel and I"m a moron who wants enough stereo to register as a small earthquake.
 
I think this is the definition of 'I am not f'ing around' when it comes to power. I guess I'd like to be able to run a welder and my stereo at the same time?

THAT is some serious alternator output! The weight isn't bad. I'd love to know the dimensions, fore and aft.
Is that a six or eight rib pulley? I tried counting but that only made me dizzy.

I'm ditching the power steering pump (I'm doing something equally dumb there) and probably putting this monster there. It is an enormous alternator for sure!
 
I didn't notice. But what kind of bottom end are you going to run? Of course I am blind in one eye and cant see out of the other.
