TBI conversion on a 472

Forgot to mention, there IS one thing that the MS1 can't do, and that is control a stepper type (i.e. GM) IAC motor. In that case you can either adapter a Ford PWM-type valve, or bite the bullet and upgrade to the MS2. The MS2 *is* better from a hardware standpoint but as far as the benefits go, it's more hype than real benefit.

Do you know why? Is it just the lack of a stepper controller preventing it, is insufficient computational power or lack of memory for the code?

I noticed the MS2 CPU board has a UDN2916LB stepper motor driver for IAC control. I suspect someone has done it on a MS1 setup, before it was put on the MS2 module.
 
The MS1 does not have the I2C (chip-to-chip communications bus) capability needed to communicate with the stepper motor control chip

:yikes: I didn't notice the I2C. I though it was just a PWM input.
 
I looked at the motor controller again.
I don't see and I2C interface on it.

Looks like IACEnlb turn the output on(full power) or off.
IAC1 and IAC2 control the direction.

All three signals come straight from the CPU.
 
Oops, looks like my memory may be playing tricks on me. I am sure the problem is the MS1 is just maxxed out and doesn't have any more outputs to spare
