Thanks guys!
The aero of the T is in a class by itself..... :yikes: but it's staying just like it is. More power conquers all, lol.
It weighs 2500# with me in it,2470# with Kendall(could have used his narrow butt yesterday, lol).
  Shawn...."Did I degree the cam".......SAY WHAT?!? lol
Of course I degreed the cam :screwy: lol. It's 263/263 at .050 single pattern solid (intake and ex the same) .586" lift installed 6 advanced.I had to advance the cam 12 :yikes: to get it there....it was ground retarded on the blank apparently.Wouldn't that have sucked if I'd just plugged it in there... :cursing:. I always degree all my cams, even stock-I just have to know.... :screwy:<me.
I just went out and washed off the burnout box reside(which covers the entire car by the way,due to the open wheels)and cleaned the glass and wheels.Sometime this week I'll have a look at the valvetrain to make sure it's staying where it belongs.

Terry,
Impressive, but I knew that it would be. Good job.

Questions;
1. what's the compression on this engine?
2. what's the dish/notch volume?
3. How's this cam compare to other engine's cam as far as LSA and lift?

Congrats
Dave

Terry,
More questions: On the porting, I've yet to look closely at a 76cc head. How far did you/he push the pushrod pinch back? Raise either roofs any? Are the ports widened any? Just looking for a guide on what works for 76cc head ports. Anyone else feel free to chime in with hints. TIA
Dave
p.s. - 2.19"/1.84?

Terry,
What brand cam was that again? Was it ground wrong?

Terry,
I read your other posts. I see the other cam is on a 108, vs 112 on this one. I wonder how TDC lift compares? I wonder if either would allow 76cc heads on flat tops w/o notches? I remember that Shawn had clearance issues with a .600" lift, but I can't remember his duration/LSA/L-Cs.

The cam is a Cam Techniques,no longer in business. It wasn't ground wrong, just wouldn't fit on the blank without positioning the grind slightly retarded,or it was a reground stock core-who knows?(been a long time!) I fixed it with the sbc bushing.
    Dave
Neither cam would work without valve reliefs.Lift on both is .585" and both are way too close to run without notches.
Pushrod pinch is .080" thick right now, roof is lightly ground and smoothed, floor is just smoothed.I widened the port any place the cross section area was smaller than the pushrod pinch, and straightened it as much as possible. The bowls are where the most work was done.
I think the combined piston dish and notch is about 10cc.
  Compression ratio is 11.2-11.5.

Well the Exalted King of the CSOB's has done it again. Daaammmm. Terry, does the engine sound any different to your ear? Whats your view on which was more important--the porting, the different camshaft, or the compression? Best, Charles

When I heard the motor for the first time, it sounded noticably different. Instead of the higher pitched "tapitty tap staccatto", it has more of a "pop" to it. The compression/cam combo sounds really neat together. I wonder what this thing would do on a 108lsa???? Next time out we should be in the 'teens for sure  :yikes:

Charles-
Kendall says it sounds different at idle, but I don't know.Sounds pretty close to the other setup to me.....UNTIL I am in the car and on the throttle. It has a more urgent, angry sound, and as the rpm comes up it becomes a deep whine. It's very smooth and the torque curve feels like a flat line.
I don't think any of the three have more influence than the others. My feeling is that it is an even three way split....it really sounds and feels like a good match. It'll hit 6000 rpm in 1st in a heartbeat if you're not careful.
  Terry

Terry,
Thanks for the porting info. I was just curious about the flat tops. CR should be 12.2-1 or so, assuming that it'd have 6-7cc less combustion space. I wonder if such a combo would need 100% race gas?

 Sure raises a few :eyebrow:. Congrats on your shakedown, very impressive. We'll be looking
for some wheels-up pics soon. Terry, you've outdone yourself(again) :eyepopping:

All I've tried so far is to quit smiling.....that's not working. :D The 1" spacer is in the tool box for next trip.

Terry and Kendall----I am surprised at both of you. You should know by now that the popping and whining being described is the chevy boys brains overloading looking at a stock head and block cadillac with a performer manifold putting up 10.29's at 130mph in a phone booth.......LOLOL....I bet the spacer gives you more mph and less 660 due to the torque loss. Charles

About 5600-5700 through the traps if I remember correctly. I would love to see how the car would do with a good ford manifold on adaptors. He also has a 1050 Dominator to try out sometime.

If you need an adapter plate, I have one of the originals that I am not going to use----for that matter, I have the ford 460 victor jr intake too...but its drilled for fuel injection. Machined off the water passages etc. Its a nice piece. I could bring the adapter plate to the shindig for you if you like. Charles

Great job , Terry.I really think you should bring that monster down here. On a "good air " day our "corrected altitude" is NEGATIVE 500 ft, in the heat of summer it averages around 900 ft. I think if we swap that power into the RED,(1550 lbs. wet) 9.60's will be doable. I took the RED out this weekend, (first time this year) and she laid down 2- 9.80's @ 137, and your making at least a hundred more horses than my "junker", WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIL
BTW, Mr. EARP (Dan) got his first taste of Caddy torque, 4 passes, with a best of 10.11. he's still grinnin'. all he has to do now is remember to put his helmet against the rollcage, before he pulls the trigger, LOL (sorry Dan)
Seriously, my offer of chow and floor space still stands, and the MADDOG is only 2 hours away,(that outta really lock that grin on your face. Come on in, the 9's are fine... Paul
