Hi guys
Well, the rain stayed away and we had a great day today.Weather conditions at the track were 75 degrees, light tailwind and 2800' density altitude. That's about as good as it gets around here in the spring.
Kendall had work and school stuff going on so I didn't have to worry about him besting my times today for a change, lol.
I set the timing at 32 deg, mixed a couple gallons of leaded 110 with a couple of 91 pump gas,and fired it up for a couple warmup laps down the return road, onto the big end of the track past the finish line, and back again. On the big end I idled along at 10 mph or so in 1st and nailed it.Incinerated the slicks instantly.I took it as a good omen. Tried it at 30 mph in 2nd.....same result.
Clicked third at about 60 mph, stood on it and it fishtailed slightly and stayed loose. Now it has my attention!
Got in line about 30 minutes later, and while doing the burnout I thought about taking an easy pass......but only for a second and that thought passed. Staged the car, brought the rpm up to 1500 and nailed it.The starting line was a little green,so it gave a couple small hops, but the 60' was 1.54,same as always. Then that sucker nailed me in the seat and the shift light was on(5600)like right now! I clicked second and it just felt like an extension of 1st....no reduction in acceleration rate at all.The light winked again and third gear just kept pulling HARD and 100 feet before the stripe the shift light was on again. :yikes: This was new territory for sure and I couldn't wait to see the slip.

I was slightly pumped to say the least!
Next pass the car was warmed up better(first pass is always slower).
10.33 at 128.46 with a 1.49 60'
Then....
10.27 at 130.17 with a 1.51 60'

Then
10.26 at 129.27 with a 1.48 60'
Now we're talkin',and so is everyone at the track. The T was surrounded in the pits for most of the rest of the day,and I had a ball.
Went three more passes, all between 10.27 and 10.32,and at 129 mph give or take a bit.It is a beast and I love it.Hooks hard, lifts the wheels 2-4" and goes straight forward NOW.
.......And it didn't blow up either.

PS- the Edelbrock will pull past 5400
