Just to clarify, it is not my project, I am just reposting links to pertinent Cadillac-related material.
I am working on my own 1964 project (the blue-green one shown in avatar photo). It is a
Pontiac. Currently I am putting quarter panels on, and will be through winter. There are fitment issues because the car was built at the Kansas City plant, the deck lid (statistically speaking) probably came from the Michigan plant, the donor roof assembly (vinyl top rot and hail were on the original) came from a Fremont, California car. Added to this, there was a mismatch of the deck lid to the quarter panels when new. It shows up on some photos from the 1980's I took. The deck lid hangs out longer than it should. So the Kansas City quarter panels were probably too short back then. That is also affected by the tail panel (unobtanium). So I am lengthening the tail panel to the rear a bit, shortening the Goodmark replacement quarter panels a little, and hopefully with more work it will all play nice together.
After the body is well on its way I will start mocking up the Cadillac motor. I have learned a lot from this Pole barn
Buick guy. My transmission tunnel will likely need raised for my Turbo 400, though that in itself would create more hood clearance issues with a hood I don't want to cut. So it will be a delicate balance and I might not have room for the Edelbrock manifold. I might go back to the Cadillac iron one and whatever spacer I can get away with. I have headers that are A-bodyish and don't know if they will help with the steering clearance issue.
I really like it when we learn from each other. It shortens the improvement curve.
