I bought a set of Olds rods resized and worked from Potter. He's out of the office for a few days I think, so I was wondering if anyone can give me a quick answer on this.
The olds rods, on some use an extra hole in the center, where the cap mating surface is. I think this is to squirt oil up towards the camshaft, is this correct?
If this does squirt oil, do you have to then pay attention to the orientation of those rods? For instance, there's 3 out of the 8 in my set with the holes. Depending on which cylinder bank I put them, the squirt will go towards the cam, or it will squirt towards the underside of the cylinder. I'm thinking this would be bad to point at the cylinder, might cause it to burn oil.
Anyone put the Olds rods in recently that can lend advice???
thanks
Andy
