I've seen/read/heard of 2 styles of fuel pump for the 472/500. 1 for w/ac has a big can(for lack of a better term) & 1 for wo/ac has a smaller can. :footinmouth:
Does NAPA carry the small one? If so, do you have a part # & maybe a pic?
Thanks for your help?
Al
tic-toc, tic-toc 11 days to finish the project :yikes:

Am I thinking right here? Do all the early style pumps use 5/16" fuel line, and the later ones use 3/8" fuel line? Or are there versions of both early and late pumps that would use either size of fuel line?

cadzu, can you cross reference any Carquest #'s? if so, I'll get the number's tomorrow.

because carquest no longer has the fuel pumps available, but they still list the numbers in their books... :banghead:

yes i should be able to cross them over.but the no ac & with ac pump have been consolidated into one pump

it's the fuel pump with the large can

CADZU...YOU DA MAN!!
It was the early one I was refering to. They have a good crew at the local NAPA (S. High St. Col. Oh.)
I'm sure they can help me out.
Thanks again,Al
10 days, no way :banghead: :cursing: :tired:

hey cadzu,

the carquest numbers are:

40966  (has 5/16 lines)
40968 - no longer available to them, but may still being made by airtex.

What year/model/engine size or whatever would I have to ask for to get a pump with 3/8 inch fuel lines?

they used the same pump from 71-76.napa part#m6622

just block off the return line on it.but it has a 3/8 nipple
