I have noticed that recntly cable-less throttles are becoming more common on newer cars.  "Fly by wire" so to speak.  I was wondering has anyone seen any kind of aftermarket kit for sale yet?  Im looking at a few crazy projects where a non linear throttle would be ideal and thought electronic (programable) would be and easier solution than trying to build some sort of cam mechanism.

A proggressive throttle for our torque monsters would be A good seller. Ive been pulled over many times for tire squeel and my truck now has A hydrolic throttle (that I dont like) because when I had my 10' mechanical setup, the friction in the sheath caused pretty good sized black marks at every stop light.

The state patrol at Car Craft streetrod nationals had called for a flat bed after I told them the patch outs were unavoidable (even after airing down the forward tandom). people were coming over asking why are you being towed but after 10 minutes of thought  I realised I could just run on the front motor. You should have seen his face and humiliation with all the croud laughter as I explained my solution and drivetrain setup. They canceled the tow.

This truck can be veiwed at webshots, (rollerskatingdork  then on page 7).

TJ try King Controls in St Louis Park. They used to make them for RV's and some airport ground stuff. They are really good people there.....

If I'm not mistaken (& I often am)  :censored: Some fork lift / material handleing equip. manufacturers use an electronic system on some pieces. :crossfingers:
Let us know what you find. That would make my twin engine hearse closer to a reality. :eyepopping:
Al

The current issue of Hot Rod Magazine talks about after market drive by wire throttles.  I think there is mention in the article on new motor swaps into vintage musclecars.
