Was hoping I could get guys to tell me more about the 368 with the 864 motor I have a temperature sensor light that stays on I have new sensor but it is different from original but have new pigtail on the new one are they changing them over if anyone knows let me know and anything else that u can add it runs at high idle I changed a bunch of filters and even the pvc valve it has dropped the idle down some but there's times that it still wants to high idle it could be the temperature sensor that's doing it also I want to change the egr valve would anyone know the part number or point me in the right direction so I could possibly find one to purchase so I can get a new one thanks

You say the temp light stays on. Okay there are two temp sensors on your car. It's been so long there might 3 sensors. There is one sensor in the front of the motor in the water jacket, this is not your problem. This one is for the computer to know the coolant temp. The second sensor is by the right , passanger side , first sparkplug.. It has one wire going to it. This wire gives a ground to your heater to turn on the blower motor only after it warms up a little bit. At that same spot on the left,drivers side, head is the third over temp sensor.. Now on the drivers side head it is by the last sparkplug and has one wire to it. The sensors on the heads look the same but they are not. They have numbers on them that are the temp they turn on.. If you can't find a sensor just leave that wire disconnected... Are you getting a CHECK ENGINE light with your high idle? Is it giving you a TPS code?
