So I have everything installed in my truck ready for break in. I have fuel, computer is sending a datastream. I receive an RPM signal during cranking. I have the distributor from my 76 engine converted to a 7 pin HEI module. I am using a lockout kit for the vacuum advance and weights and new 368 pickup coil. I have a new ignition coil and cap. Ground strap is in place. I have verified voltage in crank and run, all my connections to the PCM have been checked end to end. The module was tested good at a parts store. I am getting no spark at all, even at the coil terminal. What am I overlooking?

Don't hate me but check the small wires that connect the coil to the distributor body again.

I've had the pins bend over and miss the plug before

Check the pick up HEI reference wire to ECM
This wire lead can disconnect at the plug.

I now have proper spark and was able to set the base timing while my wife tried to start the engine. For anybody trying to use the factory 454 TBI adapter, make sure your gasket actually seals. The 1987 454 base gasket does not seal to a Cadillac intake.

I used a 1/2 spreadbore carb spacer with cadillac lower gasket and 454 gasket on top when I had stock intake. I made my own adapter when I swapped to edelbrock.

I have ordered a Mahle G26792. I think it will work because it has the lips on the sides to go around the ports on the intake. The G31411 was basically straight on the sides.
