Like the title says, I'm currious as to what type of plugs and wire sets are being used. I would be currious to know preferences for street motors and race set-ups also.
Thanks for the replys so far. Any chance y'all might have the part #'s for the Jacobs and MSD wires? Additional combos and part #'s are welcomed. I just painted my motor black that I got with the G body Regal, and am looking at possible wire/plug combos that would look and perform well.
The low compression motor in the T ran 10's all last season with the same set of R44XLS AC's and $39 Summit universal spiral core wires.Never heard it misfire. Gonna do it again this season.

i run accel 300+ wires on my pickup. They have lifetime warranty. A few years ago i burnt one pretty bad , it fell against the hedder for a long hot drive. They sent me a whole new set for free. I was impressed. That was on a sbc, the cad should be less of a problem .

I'm a big fan of Moroso Blue Max wires for both street and bracket cars. If and when I move up to a heads up class again I'll probably go with Jacobs or MSD. For the Cad it probably doesn't matter on plugs as long as they're good ones (Champion, AC, etc). I use Bosch Platinums on the Z28 b/c I don't want to change the plugs anymore than I have to.
You haven't lived until you've changed the spark plugs on a 4th gen f-body.... abt 3 hrs. Number 8 has to come out from underneath the car after you take the starter out. And it still helps to have reeeeeally skinny arms.
No platinum on a blown or turbo'd anything. Stock type engine, stock type plug. 10-1 iron, one range colder than that (choose your brand), 11-1 alum. 2 heat ranges colder(still a shelf item), Max compression- call, I want to sell you some stuff anyway(ha ha) . Nitrous likes colder plugs as well, but I think can run platinums, but not 100% sure.
Been using the same set of Jacobs wires on various caddy engines for about 10-12yrs now. Been on everything from a low compressioon near stocker to the turbo engine. Finally pulled a boot apart last year but they still seem to work the same.
Just wanted to say thanks to those that shared their combos with the board. Just one more quick question. I'm sure that MSD, Moroso, Jacobs, etc do not list the Cadillac and wondered if you just used BBC or Universal wires as a guide to purchase.
Iv'e used Jacobs(universal) plug wires for years with no trouble except the ignition box(old style) that they wouldn't stand behind. It never did work. I bought MSD 3118-9 8.5mm at the US Nationals last summer as recemended by MSD for the Cadillac(universal) Ron
I have used Taylor wires on everything and switched to MSD's to try and find a ghost, didnt notice any difference though, also using autolite and a/c delco plugs, like the autolites better, get universal length and cut to the length u want   :twocents:
   Universal length sets are the only way to go. Buy a crimping tool once and your good to go.
Summit# SUM 900400 is similar to a set I've had for years. Big plus is you'll be able to repair wires when
you pull the spark plug ends off. And you WILL pull some apart someday... :cursing: :cursing: :cursing:
bought a universal set of MSD 8.5mm super conductor wires, p/n 31229, the other day. making 'em was easier than I thought it'd be. the hardest part was the second crimp. can't really tell any difference from the Accel 8.8 wires that I had... 'cept much better wire routing and it seems to rev a tiny bit smoother - could just be my imagination. I'd definitely do it again on my next toy.
