Does this look like it would work?  I know it would have been better to start with a non egr one but at the time I could not find one locally and didnt want to pay the shipping for a minor gain.  This one was like new or rebuilt in the past and was just dirty.  The rest of the intakes I had were all quite full of carbon and other crud and would have taken more time and money to get clean so I sent this one to the shop along with the rest of the parts.  My only reason for even messing with it is I was going to use a square bore throttle body.  The EFI guy I have been working with is a bit slow to say the least so its going to get the Q jet put back on for at least the break in, I just have to put on a manual choke since my 73 Q jet has the seperate choke and this is a later intake for the electric choke.  This is all going back into an eldorado so there is no hood clearance for an edel.

hey man, hopefully the other experts will chime in but i think the turbulance is crazy unless you have the 1 inch phoneolic spacer under
the qjet,i think that notch in the you put in to scavange will do a nice job, just like you said ,you have nothing to lose try it and see how it goes!

I have located some information I have found helpful in the past on intake manifolds.  The section on Dual Plane types has some comments in the fourth paragraph regarding the divider and the effects of cutting it ..

Although the example is Mopar, the same would be true of other stock manifolds..

There is a lot of good information throughout this site ..

Looks good to me and ive done quite a few of them.

If you can fit a 1/2 inch spacer on there you might want to try it.....it will help

If when I get the EFI with the square bore I will have to run a spacer just to get the mounting to work.  I think without the hood insulation (which I have not got around to replacing yet) I could use a spacer with the q jet carb.

This is what I use on my Pulling truck, it works great up to 5,000-5,200 rpm or so. I have done both ways, with the divider and without, no difference. The biggest gains came from cleaning all the casting boogers out of the runners, and blocking those exaust crossovers.

i did my manifold and it seems to work fine except that once it was done i could not get enough fuel into the car off idle. the engine created a terrible lean bog. i was able to get rid of most of it by going up 4 sizes in the carb plus modifying the accel pump to make the biggest squirt. but now at part throtte it is too rich. even resticting the air door opening did not help enough
this year i have a 3/4 inch quadrajet spacer and well see how that works.
i really think a double pumper may solve the problem but not shure.

This is going on a 30 over engine, 120cc heads, small dish(9cc?) pistons, MTS #5 cam and then back in my 73 eldorado convertible with the 3.07 final drive so if it does ever see  5K its not going to be there very long.  Stock Q jet for starters then maybe some sort of custom EFI.
