Just bought an 509cid caddy from him. Great service, great guy to deal with!!! Very help full!!

Which car? the car that the 509 from Schraders is going is a 1937 LaSalle coupe that i am building for a customer, and I haven't even startet on it. (I'm still finishing a nother car) But I will be starting on it in June, if any body is interested I'll post pic's.
My car has a 512 cid and I built the engine in it, the car is a 1929 Ford model A roadster pick up. Here's a pic and yeah it hauls ass, runs in the mid to hi 10's.

Yes, your car. Cool indeed. More info on the engine build, drivetrain etc, please. What's it weigh?

Thanks.
Dave

512 cid engine, 1968 caddy block, .010 under balanced 1970 crank with champhered oil passages, Michigan 77 bearings that are size matched to crank, olds rods, venolia forged pistons 10:1, 902 heads pocketporting, crane cam, chevy valve springs (95lbs on seat), Edelbrock intake, 750cfm edelbrock carb, points distributor with Crane XR-i electronic kit, revlimiter set to 5000rpm. High flow water pump, high flow oil pump. Still running stock rockerarm assembly, but will be buying MTS shaft rockers next week. Custom built lakes headers.

Stock model A radiator, shortened 4.5" with a custom built 5 row core, mechanical fan, never runs hot. Cruises at about 180* and the hottest it's ever got was 210*, that was sitting in traffic at about 100* outside temp.

Transmission: TH 400 rebuilt with shiftkit and a 2000rpm stall converter

Rear end: GM 10bolt with posi, coil overs and ladderbars

Front axle: 1936 ford I-beam, dropped 4" with hair pins, disc brakes, Vega steering box

Custom built frame, made out of 2x4 steel tubing, Z'd 4 inches, Wheel base is 98"

Body is a original 1929 ford model A roadster pickup, channeled 5" and the Bed has been shortened 36"

It weighs 1829lbs with out me in it.

I've put close to 6500 miles on it in less than 2 years and it's a blast!!

Built it my self in 7 months, on the weekends and after work.

Weight is 1829lbs, like I wrote in the last post :)
The cam is the second to the biggest that crane offers, if I remember correctly. I'd have to look at some receipts if you want to know exactly which one it is. It idles fairly nice at 600 rpm.

Johnny,

Oops. Sorry. Should read more carefully. Heck of a good running combo there.

Thanks.
Dave

Hey, thanks for being interested in my car. Talking (writing) about it is one of my favorite things to do.

Thanks for the kind words, Johnny. I can't wait to see what the LaSalle turns out like.
