Looking to do as the title says wondering if anyone has done this swap before and knows what is needed to make this happen.
So far, I have the engine and trans out of a '70 Deville. I only know I'll need a different oil pan, and I've heard I need mounts from a 425. Other than that, I'm not sure.
Howdy:
For higher RPM, and lower cylinder wall loading under boost, could a crank with a 3 inch stroke make a Caddy run smooth?
It looks like a billet crank will do the trick, and this thing will rev like the 1973 stock block that Smokey ran at Indy ?
Here is the high rev plan:

What do you guys think of the CHP rocker shafts? Will these work well with the Howard’s 292 or the old MTS#20 camshaft? I want to run Rhoads lifters, and need the adjustment feature to dial in my rebuilt 472.
If you have run these, are you happy with them?

Roy
Almost clicked Buy it Now, but then realized they are Standard size. And the block i have laying around needs to be bored.

Last night I started disassembling what I thought was a 500, it came out of a eldorado. Upon using my boroscope I found it to have the butterfly dished pistons in it. I've been running a .030 500 for the past 2 summers. And was planning on modifying this one for more performance. Is there that...
Got the rotating assembly put together. Turns over pretty stiff... Is that to be expected? Used plenty of assembly lube on bearings, crank pins, and cylinder walls. Nothing's oversized. Cylinders were only honed. Ring end gap between .026-.028" in all cylinders, measured at the bottom of the...
I am trying to make a decision as far as what cam to run in my (what I was hoping was a 500 but have now verified it as a) 472 build. I want some lump, enough oomph to fill up 5" side pipes.
It is a low-budget build, per my lady's request lol. Nothing crazy (no KB pistons, cylinders just honed...
