GM Holden’s Mark Reuss made an announcement on Thursday that Cadillac will not be heading to Australia. As a result of the current market conditions, the timing was not right to introduce Cadillac – especially since many Australians weren’t crazy about the idea of new competition for Holden coming directly from GM.
As it stands, the plan has been delayed “indefinitely”. The Cadillac vehicles already in the country (ready for a February brand launch) are being redirected to other right-had drive markets. When the time is right, the plan will be taken into consideration again.
