That's how the rocker is without the spacer.
Gosh, I sure hope I don't run into this with my valve train. At least you learned something! I saw in the beginning of the thread that these are MTS heads, but I must've missed the brand of rockers. Are they MTS too?
Yes also MTS but to be fair my heads are older mts/heads that are likely more like the bulldog version (If there's any difference). With new MTS adjustable rockers
Man your patience must be pushed to edge.
Im begining to see why so many want to leave the caddy brand and go chebby. I here deem chebby LS is kinda sexy at the track as they shake their hinney walking away. But i dont know that to be true.
My patience is gone but I'm very stubborn and want to see this through. I will say that I like the cadillac engine but definitely wish that I could have learned all of this on a cheap chevy then took my knowledge and applied it to the cadillac. Without this forum I would have been screwed! No-one wants to help me work on my car locally like they have never seen a pushrod engine before or something
Not uncommon to have to grind rocker for retainer clearance.
$$$, but a beehive and it's much smaller retainer would eliminate the issue.
Terry P used comp 26120s, but they are pretty tall. He had to shim his mts rockers up to make geometry right. Not sure if he had longer than stock valves or not [iron heads]
Those are adjustable and should or always did have the spring relief cut in them
