I'm running out of space in my 49 Hudson/Cadillac 500 project. I would like to add AC to the car, but don't really want the compressor sitting where it was from the factory. I
would like to keep an uncluttered look to the engine and was wondering if anyone was successful at hanging it on the side and how they did it.
Does anyone have thoughts or pics?
Thank

With the fenders on it ,how much room to the sides do you have? Doesn't look like much. They make smaller power stering pumps ,maybe put it closer to the water pump and hang the a/c over there ?

I saw this on Jegs the other day https://www.jegs.com/i/Vintage-Air/960/15500-VCB/10002/-1

They make another version for the stock manifold. I like that it is steel, so it can be modified if needed.

Looks great, encouraging, but difficult to figure how it is placed on the engine. Would've been nice if they showed it on the engine with compressor.
Thanks

What I did when I ran a 2115 was to switch to an R-4 compressor and I modified and used the stock 1980 (368) mounts.

Here is a picture showing a lower passenger side A/C compressor mounting - with the benefit of a serpentine belt system. This setup was designed by one of our forum members, Bro. Dwayne, at 53 Studillac.
You might drop him a note to see if that setup is available and if so where from.

best,
bro. d

I like that idea....seems hard to find online though.
Any suggestions?

Did you combine with power steering pulley?
Thanks

Yes,
This was intended to replace the A-6 on the 368 motors. I have a set of the brackets (Front and 2 rear tubular brackets) left so if you are thinking of going this way PM me.

Thank you Greg, I will be in touch as my project gets closer to the point where AC is necessary.
