Ok guys I have a new McFarland 1-pc intake adapter that I'm getting ready to sell off.

It bolts to the 472/500 engine and allows you to run a Ford 460 intake on your Cadillac.

I know these sold new for $325 back in the day, but I'm not looking to get that from it.

My spacer was properly machined and fits the block and heads correctly as does the 460 intake

to the spacer. I've heard that some of them were machined at the wrong angles. NOT THIS ONE

Also it is as it came from McFarland no extra grinding or port matching has been done to it.

This adapter was cast at the famous "Buddy Bar Foundry" in California and is a very high quality casting.

I'm fishing here to see what it's now worth to someone on the board before it ends up on eBay.

Tom

Interesting. I've heard of the buddybar foundry, but not McFarland.

Who is McFarland?

Ah, the Tork-link intake guy, right? Didn't he do columns for a magazine for years too?

If anyone is interested, Jim McFarland still writes a monthly column in Circle Track magazine. Very good technical stuff.

Anybody know if an adapter and a ford intake will fit under the hood of a '71 Eldorado (often wondered what would fit under the hood) before I offer tom a suitcase full of money?

You need a really short intake for that Eldorado and this spacer with a Ford intake would most likely be to tall.

beware, CJ and non CJ ports are a tad different.

You think?

Here's you a standard port Ford 429 with a 429 CJ gasket laying on it.

Then of coarse the Boss 429 has a larger port than the 429 CJ does.

Thanks for all of the information and the picture of the cylinder head. I've been looking for a used 460 Hilborn setup for over 2 years without finding anything. I think the guys who have them, kinda keep them forever. Oh well, I'll just keep looking for one. Thanks guys. Here's a shot of what those injectors would be going on.
Take care,
Dave
