Sorry, Me wrong. '68 had a different pump with an external filter. One year only. On a/c cars.

Thanks for the correction, but now where does it leave me....is this pump ok to use and should i drill out the return line fitting?

The big nut should be on the intake side of the pump:unsure:. Just like the stock Q-Jet. I think. Will have to let you know tomorrow. Working on a '74 Fleetwood will take a look. Old age, beer, and Maker's Mark has kind of fogged what brain cells I have left:cry:.
