What vehicle(s) do you drive?
79 Deville
Hey everyone was working on my Cadillac 79 sedan deville on the water pump. Stripped two bolts out and went to re-tap them. Well tapped the first one and started threading helicoil through. Got through and it just got too easy so I go to remove the coil tool and insert bolt. And got the same result. Then I realized that there are no threads on the other end. so heli coil just fell into the outer space. Does anybody know where this empty space leads to? The oil pan maybe?what is your take? Can I remove this somehow or just leave it? It’s a 425 ci

As long as it doesn’t get hung up in the timing chain it probably won’t hurt anything. You might pull the distributor and fish it out through that hole.
