Hello everybody and and à happy new year!
I've read somewere that IF you cut out the center of a stock intake IT Will omprovet flow to 95% of a edelbrock intake.
I E-mailed Chris at Cadco and he Said IT doesn't work and others saya that IT does
Anyone have any ideals abort this?

The “dropped divider wall” seems to even out the air/fuel ratio, and makes the exhaust temps closer to even on all header pipes. Also seems like dropping the center divider wall could help shift the peak torque up to a slightly higher RPM, and take away a bit of the bottom end torque.

Take a close look at the latest Edelbrock 2115, and you will see they have removed the center dividing wall...

I say “Tear Down that Wall”, and smooth out the insides of the ports too. While you are at it, port match the intake to a new gasket, and prepare for more HP !!

Welcome aboard.

Regards,
Roy

Edelbrock is doing that?

Kinda says alot about how there intake is too dog gone small ..

Doing so defeats a dual plane??
Both sides see crossover ...

It works well on a 425. Hahaha But on a 500 it has serious air flow issues ..
Supposedly you cannot reach some of them .. never tried yet

Wanna bet this one flows more CFM than an Edelbrock?

I have done it a few times on Cadillacs and other engines and had good luck with it if you want to save money or room or don't want the hassle with Ac brackets. I say do it.

Oops, my bad. 472 Jeep J-20 made me do it !

Seriously, just cut the center out of that stock intake, and it flows better on the top end. Add a 1” or 2” aluminum spacer on the top, and the flow goes up too! Then make sure you port match the intake to the heads if you can...

Enjoy the Caddy,

I've done several over the years and sold them on e-bay, think I still may have one stored away in one of my garages.

So, if you cut out the center and then port all the runners, and port the runners in the heads, and then port match the gasket to both heads and iron manifold, will the manifold flow more than a stock Edelbrock on stock heads?

Thoughts?

The Edelbrock makes about 15hp more than a stock intake but has a weaker low end. Cutting out the divider boosts top end. Edelbrock used to relieve the divider on many intakes but only between the secondaries. So doing it to a cast iton intake ought to bring you close. Porting the heads will give you more.
