1988 Eldorado motor problems

Greetings,
I have been offered a 1988 Eldorado with head gasket problems. Sat for many years then registered and driven for a year or so. I do not know much about these motors. Aluminum heads/block problems? Warped head problems? Nylon clad timing gears? Or are these correctable with a rebuild? Car has fairly low milage. Body and interior is really nice.
Suggestions?

Probably not a good candidate for a rebuild, but shouldn't be too hard to find a replacement. A 4.9 should drop right in.
